Omalium caesum (Gravenhorst, 1806) 
A small Staphylinid, which is probably quite widespread and common over much of Nottinghamshire, yet under-recorded due to the difficulties in identification. The one illustrated, was recorded in a leaf litter sample from The Carrs at Market Warsop in late March 2020.
