Nysson trimaculatus (Rossi, 1790)
This is an uncommon species in Nottinghamshire, with traceable records from either end of the county. It has been recorded from the Finningley and Misson Gravel Pit area on several occasions, but the one illustrated here was photographed in Tim Sexton's Attenborough garden. Nysson trimaculatus is a cleptoparasite of Gorytes quadrifasciatus and G. bicinctus, but Tim has recorded it using G. laticinctus. Once again, grateful thanks to Tim for allowing use of his photographs.
