Blunthorn Nomad Bee Nomada flavopicta (Kirby, 1802)
One recorded from a Bestwood garden by Sandra Parkin in July 2024, appears to be the first Nottinghamshire record for many years, as there are two records of Nomada flavopicta from Great Wood at Finningley, in 1977 and 1990. This site lies right on the Nottinghamshire/South Yorkshire border, but the location of the record, seems to put it in Nottinghamshire, but probably only by a matter of metres.

Grateful thanks once again, goes to Sandra Parkin, for very kindly allowing the use of her photographs to illustrate the species, one of many solitary bees and wasps she has diligently recorded from her Bestwood garden.
