Necrobia violacea (Linnaeus, 1758) 
The county status of this attractive beetle is uncertain, but there appear to be no previous (or traceable) records from Nottinghamshire. The one illustrated was recorded from underneath an old deer carcass, found at the roadside at Hockerton, near Southwell, in May 2026 by Nick and Samantha Brownley.
