Microplontus melanostigma (Marsham, 1802)
A small and seemingly uncommon/rare weevil in Nottinghamshire, which until recently was known as Microplontus rugulosus (Herbst,1795). There appears to be just two records, with a record from the very north-east of the county from Trent Port, Gainsborough in October 2019 (Barnes, C.) and the one below, which turned up in a grass/leaf litter sample, taken from the base of several trees on Sherwood Heath at the end of January 2026 (Pendleton, T.A.).
