Micropeplus fulvus (Erichson, 1840)
This is another very small Staphylinid measuring little more than 2mm in length. The one pictured, was found within a leaf litter sample taken from Holborn Hill Plantation, a section of Beech woodland at Gleadthorpe near Meden Vale. Generally a species of compost heaps and rotting vegetation, there are few recent county records. The record in the south of the county, is from Bunny Old Wood in 1986.
