Meliscaeva cinctella (Zetterstedt, 1843)
A common Hoverfly of wooded areas and which has to be carefully identified, as there are several similar species. This one was found and photographed by Pauline Bradford in early August, at Dyscarr Wood, in the north of Nottinghamshire.
