Meliscaeva auricollis (Meigen, 1822)
Meliscaeva auricollis is fairly common over parts of the UK and its Nottinghamshire distribution is could best be described as being patchy. It is almost certainly commoner than our records suggest and its identification is not always easy, as there are numerous similarly marked, narrow-bodied species.
