Mecinus pascuorum (Gyllenhal, 1813)
The lack of interest in small Weevils by coleopterists, means that they are often significantly under recorded nationally. In Nottinghamshire, there are several records which are all from Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust reserves, most of which date back to 2003. The most recent records are from Attenborough NR in 2015 and Sherwood Forest CP in 2016. Found on Ribwort Pantain (Plantago lanceolata) Mecinus pascuorum is probably widespread in grassy areas where the foodplant grows.
