Macronychia striginervis (Zetterstedt, [1838])
In terms of markings, Macronychia striginervis is a distinctively different looking Sarcophagid, but identification can only really be accurately determined by close examination. Found around the nests of Ectemnius Wasps constructed within dead wood, there appear to be no previous Macronychia striginervis records for Nottinghamshire. The one photographed, was one of two individuals we recorded in our Market Warsop garden during June 2018.
