| This large weevil (around 15mm long) seems to be well distributed around the county and is commonly seen on low vegetation along the old hedgerow at Eakring Flash. Liophloeus tesselatus is one of many UK Weevils and belongs to the Curcullionidae group, which feed on plants. Most are easy to distinguish from other beetles, due the head being extended into a beak (rostrum) with the jaws at the tip. | ||
