Lauxania cylindricornis (Fabricius, 1794)
Unusually for a fly, there are several Nottinghamshire records of Lauxania cylindricornis. This is a small species and likely over-looked to a degree and as is usually the case with Diptera, there are other species which make identification less than straight-forward. The one illustrated was found and photographed at Netherfield Lagoons by Peter Smith. There are other recent county records from Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest CP.
