This small bark beetle was only recently found new to Nottinghamshire.
It hostplant is Ivy (Hedera helix) but it was still a
surprising find when beating Ivy growing on trees opposite the old
entrance to the Sherwood Forest CP in May 2020. It has since been
recorded more recently from Stoke Bardolph Wood in 2024
(Dutton, A.).
Kissophagus vicinus
(formerly K. hederae)
has a very patchy UK distribution, with most records coming from
south-east counties, parts of south Wales and West Norfolk and Suffolk.
Possibly increasing its UK range. |
