Ischnosoma splendidum (Gravenhorst, 1806)
One of many Staphylinidae of this particularly long, narrow shape. Somewhat similar to a stretched Tachyporus, this was a species we'd never encountered before, but regular sorting of leaf litter from Market Warsop cemetery and from old straw bales at Sherwood Forest CP, produced three individuals, which were quite recognisable on shape alone at first glance.
