Hydrotaea similis (Meade, 1887)
This is presumably another under-recorded fly in Nottinghamshire. There are numerous historical records for Hydrotaea similis, but no doubt the difficulties in identification mean that much of the county's Diptera is very much neglected. The one photographed, was one of several examples recorded from Hills and Holes SSSI at Market Warsop in late May 2017.
