Heterocordylus genistae (Scopoli, 1783)
Heterocordylus genistae is another inconspicuous Mirid bug which is extremely similar to Heterocordylus tibialis. The host plant is a reliable guide to species though, as H. genistae prefers Dyer's Greenweed (Genista tinctoria) and H. tibialis prefers Broom (Cytisus scoparius). This is probably a bug which is restricted in its occurrence in Nottinghamshire, but will probably be present where its foodplant grows. There seem to be no modern records for VC56.
