Herina nigrina (Meigen, 1826)
One of several extremely similar and well-marked flies, Herina nigrina may well be commoner than the current distribution map would indicate. This is a fly of well vegetated sites, with the individual photographed recorded on Goat Sallow at Wellow Park in early July 2018.
