Erichsonius cinerascens (Gravenhorst, 1802)
Possibly a rare Staphylinid, but more likely to be somewhat under-recorded in Nottinghamshire. Staphylinidae are notoriously difficult to identify and its best that a specimen should (ideally) be taken. There appear to be just a couple of county records, with Bob Merritt recording it at Mattersey Hill Marsh in 2004, before several turned up in a wet moss sample from Warsop Main Pit Top in May 2020.
