Epitrix pubescens (Koch,J.D.W., 1803) 
Records indicate that this small, black beetle has a restricted range in Nottinghamshire. This may indeed be an accurate picture of the range of Epitrix pubescens, which at the present time (February 2026) includes a number of records from a relatively small section of the Trent Valley, with recent records coming from Stoke Bardolph, East Bridgford, Hoveringham and Shelford, where it can be swept from the foliage of Bittersweet Solanum dulcamara. Adults overwinter. Grateful thanks to Nick and Samantha Brownley, for providing the beetle shown below.
