Dasytes virens (Marsham, 1802)
The NBN Atlas shows relatively few sites for Dasytes virens, with most being from the south-eastern corner of the UK. There are few records north of London and the occurrence of this one at Attenborough NR in June 2019, looks set to be the county's first. Found and photographed by reserve manager Tim Sexton, this unexpected record is either an example of how little we know about the UK range of our invertebrates, or just how some species are expanding theirs.
