Cynomya mortuorum (Linnaeus, 1761)
A large and distinctive species, which on previous occasions we have recorded it (one outside the county) has proved to be a difficult one to approach. There are no records for Nottinghamshire listed on the NBN Atlas and we do not know of any others, apart from one we recorded at Gedling Pit Top (now Gedling CP) in May 2016 and our most recent record - of two at Gamston Wood in April 2017.
