Cossonus linearis (Fabricius, 1775)
Very much a restricted species in Nottinghamshire at the present time, with a small number of records from three sites in the lower Trent Valley. There are records from Shelford in 1999, Carlton in 2018 and again in 2021 (all Dutton, A.) and from Stoke Bardolph in 2023 (Brownley, N. and Brownley, S.). Cossonus linearis is found in the vicinity of Poplars, often occurring in rotten logs and stumps.
