Coelostoma orbiculare (Fabricius, 1775)
Not common in Nottinghamshire, as if it was, it would have been regularly recorded during Bob Merritt's surveys of a number of years ago. It was surprising then, that three turned up in a wet moss sample taken from a pond at Warsop Main Pit Top in early May 2020. For some strange reason, virtually all of the county's records come from close to the border with all our neighbouring counties.
