Cilea silphoides (Linnaeus, 1767)
A small Rove Beetle, commonly found in manure heaps and fresh dung etc, but we can currently find no other county records. Cilea silphoides is distinctive, despite its small (3mm) size. We found two of these in a fresh manure heap at stables at Market Warsop in January 2014. Photographing them proved extremely difficult, as these beetles hardly ever remain still.
