Cilea silphoides (Linnaeus, 1767)
A small Rove Beetle, commonly found in manure heaps and fresh dung etc, but we can currently find no other county records other than those we have on the distribution map. Cilea silphoides is distinctive, despite its small (3mm) size. We found this one in an old manure heap at stables near Inkersall Grange in September 2020. Photographing these has usually proved extremely difficult, as these hardly ever remain still.
