Chrysotoxum verralli (Collin, 1940)
Widespread over most of south-eastern UK, but most Nottinghamshire records are currently from south-western areas of the county. It is probably more regularly occurring in grassy areas than records would suggest and there are a number of other Chrysotoxum species providing some difficulties towards identification. The pne illustrated here, was found and photographed by Chris Overton in Ruddington.
