Chrysopa perla (Linnaeus, 1758)
A common Lacewing, Chrysopa perla is found at many well vegetated sites throughout Nottinghamshire. There are of course a number of similar species, so a specimen or at least plenty of photographs showing the wing venation and black markings on top of the head are required to confirm any identification. This is the most likely of the Lacewings to be found in Nottinghamshire, which have a distinctly blue appearance.
