Cheilosia proxima (Zetterstedt, 1843) 
Regarded as being common across the UK, but there are not that many Nottinghamshire records we are aware of. This is a small Cheilosia and fairly distinctive due to the hairy eyes, but of course, there are similar sized and small species so identification isn't straight forward.
