Ceratapion carduorum (Kirby, 1808)
Based on the lack of records on the accompanying distribution map, this is an uncommon Weevil in Nottinghamshire, though probably with an element of under-recording. We only know of records from Mansey Common, Eaton Wood and most recently from Attenborough NR in 2016, where it was found and photographed by reserve manager Tim Sexton. Our thanks go to Tim, for kindly providing the photographs of Ceratapion carduorum below, found on Carduus crispus (Welted Thistle) at Attenborough NR in July 2016.
