Cassida flaveola (Thunberg, 1794)
Smaller than the commonly encountered Cassida rubiginosa and a species that took a while to find, even when looked for. Widespread in the UK, Cassida flaveola does not seem to be at all common locally. We eventually found this beetle on Thistle growing at Meden Vale. The adult we found was smaller than C. rubiginosa, at around 5mm.
