This Tachinid is one of a difficult Genus, all difficult to identify
from photographs alone. Carcelia lucorum is parasitic on
various Arctiidae larvae such as Buff Ermine, White Ermine and Garden
Tiger. It appears that there are no other recent Nottinghamshire records other
than the ones below, which were both photographed by Peter Smith at Netherfield Lagoons
in July 2020 and May 2024 (top images). Grateful thanks go to Peter, for allowing the use of his photographs
