Carcelia lucorum (Meigen, 1824)
This Tachinid is one of a difficult Genus, all difficult to identify from photographs alone. Carcelia lucorum is parasitic on various Arctiidae larvae such as Buff Ermine, White Ermine and Garden Tiger. There are no other recent Nottinghamshire records, other than the one below, photographed by Peter Smith at Netherfield Lagoons in July 2020. Thanks go to Peter for allowing the use of his photograph to illustrate this species.
