Brachysomus echinatus (Bonsdorff, 1785)
This is a small, rarely found weevil, which turned up in the last handfuls of a sample of wood chippings taken from a south-facing bank at Cuckney in March 2023. It appears to be the first modern Nottinghamshire record (confirmed by the county recorder) with the county's only other record of Brachysomus echinatus coming from Clumber Park as long ago as 1828.
