Brachypterus urticae (Fabricius, 1792)
A small beetle which probably has a wide distribution across the county, despite the lack of records on the map. As its name suggests, Brachypterus urticae is found on the flowers of Nettle, which results in the common name of Nettle Pollen Beetle. There are other similar species to make identification less than straight forward, as although this beetle belongs to the family Keteretidae, there is a resemblence to other pollen beetles belonging to Nititulidae.
