Bolitobius castaneus (Stephens, 1832)
A colourful Rove Beetle, but there are numerous other species to give the usual identification problems, especially with Bolitobius cingulatus, which seems more widespread in our experience. Our only record of Bolitobius castaneus, came from Besthorpe Pits near Newark in late March 2014.
