Barynotus obscurus (Fabricius, 1775)
This large weevil was found during an invertebrate survey within an increasingly urbanised area of Forest Town, Mansfield in May 2014. A large species (this one was easily 10mm) Barynotus obscurus is similar to some Otiorhynchus Weevils, but structural differences tell them apart with experience.
