Aphthona nonstriata (Goeze, 1777)
Widespread around much of the UK coast and occurring widely inland. However, there does seem to be a sparsity of Aphthona nonstriata records from Nottinghamshire, based on results returned via the NBN Gateway. Often more commonly known as the Iris Leaf Beetle, Aphthona nonstriata should be looked for, wherever Yellow Flag Iris grows around ponds, ditches etc. The one below was photographed at Attenborough NR in May 2016 by Tim Sexton, who kindly allowed us to use his photograph here.
