Woodland Dor Beetle Anoplotrupes stercorosus (Scriba, 1791)
This large beetle seem to be uncommon in Nottinghamshire. Widespread, but rather patchily distributed over much of the UK, large areas of the country are free of records. The only traceable records of Anoplotrupes stercorosus for Nottinghamshire, are from Barrow Hills near Harwell in June 2017 by Phil Lee and of two specimens found in woodland alongside the A614 at Clumber Park, by Nick and Samantha Brownley in March and again in early May 2024.
