Early Mining Bee Andrena haemorrhoa (Fabricius, 1781)
Another commonly occurring mining species which flies during April and May. Andrena haemorrhoa is a very attractive solitary bee, which is quite characteristic and relatively easy to determine, once familiar with a number of Spring-flying Andrenas. It can be found in gardens, brownfield sites and in most rural areas where there are areas of bare soil.
