Anasimyia lineata (Fabricius, 1787)
An extremely scarce hoverfly in Nottinghamshire, with very few records. Being a species of typically wet sites, with well vegetated ponds and ditches, most of the county's records have come from Attenborough NR where it has occurred several times since the 1960's. The example showed below, was found and photographed at Colwick Hall by Darren Matthews in May 2018. Our thanks go to Darren, who very kindly allowed us to use his photograph.
