Aleochara ruficornis (Gravenhorst, 1802) 
The difficulties of Staphylinidae identification is renowned and is the main reason, apart from the huge number of species, that they're often poorly recorded. There appears to be no previous Nottinghamshire records of Aleochara ruficornis, but it has a fairly widespread UK distribution. The one below, was found at Bevercotes Pit Wood, in June 2025 by Nick and Samantha Brownley.
