Aleochara bipustulata (Linnaeus, 1761)
One of many similar looking Rove Beetles (Staphylinidae) this Aleochara bipustulata was found wandering up the trunk of a Beech growing in woodland at Redbrick House near Market Warsop in late November 2014. It is a parasite of the Cabbage Root Fly larva (Delia radicum) and is being considered as suitable for use as a biological pest control species in Canada.
