Aderus populneus (Creutzer, 1796)
A very small and active beetle, which was unknown in Nottinghamshire until recorded by Adrian Dutton from the Sherwood Forest CP in 2022. A surprising second record came with two found in leaf litter samples taken from the base of several over-mature/dying Beeches at Cuckney in early 2023 (Pendleton, T.A.). It is thought that this beetle, may well have only recently arrived in the county and current evidence leans towards this.
