Acupalpus meridianus (Linnaeus, 1761)
Common and widespread over much of the southern-half of the UK, only really coastal in Wales and recorded only sparingly above a line from the River Mersey to The Wash. There are relatively few Nottinghamshire records in recent years and some of those used in the distribution map, date from the 1980's and 1990's. The lack of recent records is probably due to a lack of active coleopterists in the county, rather than being a generally scarce beetle. But it does appear to be a species of the Trent Valley, with the furthest record into Nottinghamshire and indeed the most recent record, is from Lowdham, found by Nick and Samantha Brownley, while sampling an old manure heap in early 2026.
